Views Of The Valley Photo Contest
Frame, focus, click, and capture the beauty of your surroundings for the Views Of The Valley photo contest. People, places, buildings, landscapes—as long as it’s in the city limits, it’s game. Celebrating Golden Valley since 1993!
2025 Submissions
Submissions for the 2025 Views of the Valley are now closed. This year's optional theme is Hidden Gems: Showcase little-known spots or overlooked beauty in the city.
The deadline to submit photos for the 2025 contest was Friday, June 6 at 4:30 pm.
The contest encourages participants to capture the beauty of Golden Valley through various perspectives, including its recreational amenities, locations, community events, and people. Photos of flora and fauna are also welcome.
- You must be a Golden Valley resident
(City employees and their families are not eligible to enter). - Photo must be taken in Golden Valley.
- All entries submitted must be your own work.
- Photos cannot have a copyright on them.
- Submit up to three color or black-and-white digital or photo finish prints (no panoramas). Drop-off or mail physical photos to:

Golden Valley, MN 55427- Print photos must be on photo-quality paper (no slides or photocopies).
- Sizes can be anywhere from 4"x6", 5"x7", 8"x10", or 8.5"x11"
- Do not mat or frame photos.
- Include complete photo entry information (PDF) for each physical photo. Be sure to include the location of the photo.
- All decisions will be final, and judges reserve the right not to award in any category.
- The City of Golden Valley will not be responsible for lost entries.
- The contest organizers reserve the right to disqualify any entrant.
- If there are identifiable people in the photo and it was taken in a non-public space, it is the responsibility of the photographer to obtain permission to use the photo. Photo Release Form (PDF)
By submitting photos, entrants agree to let the City of Golden Valley publish entered photos in City publications with proper credit. All photo entries become the property of the City of Golden Valley and are not returned.
Voting for the 2025 Views Of The Valley People’s Choice Award will be open from Tuesday, June 10 at 7 am until Friday, June 27 at 11:59 pm.

Golden Valley community members may cast their vote for the “People’s Choice” award online or at City Hall during business hours (8 am–4:30 pm, Monday–Friday). Winners will be notified in July.
The top three winners will each receive $50, and the grand prize winner will receive an additional $50. The People's Choice prize is $25. Winning photos will be published in CityNews and the City website. Winners will also receive certificates of appreciation.
