Liquor License
Liquor licenses available in the City of Golden Valley include On-Sale, Sunday Sale, Club On-Sale, Wine, Off-Sale, and 3.2 Percent Malt Liquor. Licenses are non-transferable. License year runs July 1 through June 30.
Businesses wishing to sell liquor in Golden Valley must submit a completed application packet to the City Clerk (763-593-8012) at least 60 days before the projected effective date.
The Police Department and City Attorney's Office conduct a thorough investigation of all liquor license applications, including corporate structure, company officers, and premises managers.
There are many types of licenses issued for establishments serving liquor. Please contact the City Clerk at 763-593-8012 for the correct application and to inquire about the timing and process of the application.

On-Sale liquor sales are permitted between 8 am and 1 am any day of the week.
Off-Sale liquor sales are permitted between 8 am and 10 pm Monday through Saturday and 11 am and 6 pm Sunday. Off-Sale liquor sales are prohibited on Thanksgiving Day, December 25, and after 8 pm December 24.
