Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program Is Open For Comments

Current News Posted on September 30, 2024

All communities with more than 10,000 people that operate a storm sewer system are required by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) to have a Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Permit. The permit includes minimum control measures to prevent pollutants from entering the storm sewer and downstream surface waters like lakes, streams, and wetlands. This collection of best management practices, procedures, ordinances and maps is known as the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Program (SWPPP), and staff must review the program annually and provide the opportunity for public comment.

The SWPPP is available to review on the City website. Forward comments by Oct 31, 2024 to Drew Chirpich at dchirpich@goldenvalleymn.gov or City of Golden Valley, Attn: Drew Chirpich, 7800 Golden Valley Rd, Golden Valley MN 55427.
