The City’s search for a new east fire station location continues to move forward. After evaluating the feasibility of the top four sites, staff presented results for discussion at the May 14, 2024 City Council Work Session.
As the Golden Valley Fire Department (GVFD) shifts to a duty crew staffing model, the need for a properly located remote station with contemporary facilities is critical to providing effective emergency services to Golden Valley residents, businesses, and visitors.
To enhance efficiencies and response times, the City needs to merge Fire Station 3 (3700 Golden Valley Road) and Fire Station 2 (400 Turners Crossroad) into a single remote fire station along the Hwy 100 corridor. The project was identified as a top priority in a 2021 analysis of community needs and existing facilities.
