City Continues To Build Forward

Current News Posted on November 17, 2025

The City of Golden Valley is making progress with its Building Forward initiative to modernize its core service facilities. This includes updating or replacing aging buildings to meet both current demands and future need.

After assessing its aging public buildings, the City determined its Public Safety and Public Works buildings can no longer adequately support efficient delivery of City services to our residents.

In 2023, voters approved a local sales tax to help fund new City facilities – specifically the new Public Works and Public Safety facilities. Since then, City staff have been working to evaluate sites, engage community members, and solidify next steps.
