Hennepin County will give away tree seedlings to property owners within Hennepin County to promote woodland restoration and increase wildlife habitat. The giveaway will take place at Parkers Lake Golf Course in Plymouth (1050 Vicksburg Ln N) on Thursday, April 24 from noon–6 pm and Saturday, April 26 from 9 am–3 pm.
Residents must RSVP online to indicate how many seedlings they want and which day they will pick up. Completing the RSVP form does not guarantee seedling availability. Residents are encouraged to bring buckets for transport and should plant their trees within 24 hours of pickup to ensure survival.
A variety of species will be available, with seedlings ranging from 18 inches to three 3 feet in height. Participants are advised to have a planting plan, as trees come in bundles of 25 and cannot be split at the pickup site.
