Golden Valley’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commission (DEIC) invites community members to take part in two annual initiatives that promote human rights and social justice—the Bill Hobbs Human Rights Award and the Martin Luther King Jr Human Rights Contest.
Bill Hobbs Human Rights Award
The Bill Hobbs Human Rights Award recognizes individuals or organizations in Golden Valley who champion fairness, equality, and inclusion. The City presents the award each December in honor of Human Rights Day.
Submit nominations by scanning the QR code or visiting https://forms.office.com/g/T3t5D2uCat.
MLK Human Rights Contest
The annual MLK Human Rights Contest invites K–12 students who live in Golden Valley or attend school in the city (or in the Robbinsdale or Hopkins school districts) to reflect on Dr Martin Luther King Jr’s legacy through creative expression.
The DEIC will announce this year’s contest theme and deadline in the coming months.
For more information on both programs, visit the Community Outreach section of the DEIC webpage at www.goldenvalleymn.gov/DEIC.
