At its August 20, 2024 meeting, the Golden Valley City Council passed two proclamations, the first recognizing September 7, 2024 as Be The Change MN Day in Golden Valley and the second honoring the volunteers of Community Mediation & Restorative Services (CMRS).
September 7, 2024 is the Be The Change MN 5th Annual Golf Tournament, hosted by Be The Change MN founder and Theodore Wirth Chalet owner Dr John Baker. According to Meet Minneapolis, "Be The Change MN works to connect underserved children, teens, and families with quality resources, curated experiences, and equitable access to community support systems."

On September 18, 2024, Community Mediation & Restorative Services (CMRS) will be hosting a volunteer appreciation event at Brookview. According to its official website, “CMRS is a Minnesota-based nonprofit that provides low- to no-cost conflict resolution services in Hennepin County. Since 1983, CMRS has helped individuals and communities engage in respectful and productive conversations, resulting in better understanding and creative, concrete solutions.”
