The City of Golden Valley is set to host its first-ever tree sale in collaboration with Tree Trust starting Friday, March 1.
This is a lottery style tree sale, meaning residents will have to register for the opportunity to purchase a tree. The lottery for the Golden Valley tree sale will be open Friday, March 1 through Wednesday, April 10. Winners will be selected and notified once registration closes.
Trees are $80 each, and purchase is limited to one tree per Golden Valley address. Residents located within an environmental justice priority area (see map on the Spring Tree Sale web page) will automatically be considered for a $40 discount, made possible by funding from the City and its Environmental Commission. The City's environmental justice priority areas are areas in the City experiencing the greatest impacts of climate change. In 2022, the City’s Environmental Commission and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commission identified and mapped these areas using best available social and environmental data. The City is prioritizing these areas for partnership, activities, and investment in trees and green infrastructure.
Trees will be available for pickup on Thursday, May 30 or Friday, May 31 at Lions Park. Click here to view available trees and learn more about the tree sale.
If you’re looking for more ways to buy trees this spring, the City of Plymouth is still hosting its annual tree sale and will be open to non-residents starting Friday, March 8.
