Golden Valley’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commission (DEIC) invites community participation in two annual programs with a focus on human rights.

Bill Hobbs Human Rights Award

Is there someone in the Golden Valley community who champions fairness and equality? Nominations are now open for the Bill Hobbs Human Rights Award, honoring individuals or organizations dedicated to creating a more inclusive environment for all.

The award is presented every December in conjunction with Human Rights Day. To submit your nominations, visit https://forms.office.com/g/T3t5D2uCat.

MLK Human Rights Contest

The MLK Human Rights Contest is open to students grades K-12 who live in or attend a school in Golden Valley, or who are part of the Robbinsdale or Hopkins school districts. The contest honors the legacy of Dr Martin Luther King Jr and encourages young people to explore themes of human rights and social justice. The DEIC will unveil this year’s theme and entry deadline in upcoming months. Stay tuned for details.
