PRISM is asking for community support for its Back to School Success Program, which helps ensure students have the necessary materials and tools to succeed in school.
The program is seeking donations of school supplies, particularly notebooks, pencils, quality backpacks, and art supplies.
There are a few ways to help:
- Drop off your donations directly at PRISM (bring them to the back donation door Monday–Saturday during Shop for Change business hours).
- Shop online and ship to PRISM (browse the Back to School Success online registries).
- Donate cash directly to PRISM children’s programs.
- Give school supplies (food donations are accepted as well) to Golden Valley staff at National Night Out next Tuesday, Aug 8, from 5–8 pm.
“Investing in school supplies for children is an investment in theirs and our future,” says Kat Moreno, embedded social worker with the Golden Valley Police Department. “Every pencil, notebook, and backpack donated helps build a foundation for lifelong learning and success.”
PRISM supports residents of the northwest Twin Cities suburbs with dignity-centered resources for food, housing, and other basic needs. The donation deadline for the Back to School Success Program is Wednesday, Aug 7. For more information, visit the PRISM website.
