Join the Golden Valley Fire Department (GVFD) at various recruitment events over the summer to learn more about what it takes to become a firefighter.
Some things to note:
- You do not need a college degree or prior first responder experience.
- You do not need to be a Golden Valley resident.
- The City hires firefighters that live up to 12 minutes away from any of its three fire stations at 7800 Golden Valley Rd, 400 Turner's Crossroad S, and 3700 Golden Valley Rd.
- The duty-crew staffing model allows firefighters to schedule their time along with responding to paged calls.
