For over 80 years, the Golden Valley Fire Department (GVFD) has protected our community with dedication and professionalism. Today, GVFD operates as a combination department with eight full-time sworn firefighters and 45 part-time Paid On-Call members who serve in ranks from Probationary Firefighter to Battalion Chief.
These individuals balance careers and family while responding to emergencies, maintaining certifications, and training to the same standards as career firefighters. The GVFD operates 24/7 through a blend of full-time staff, evening and weekend duty crews, and overnight on-call response.
