If you’re struggling to keep up with energy bills this winter, the Minnesota Energy Assistance Program (EAP) may be able to help. EAP offers income-eligible households assistance with bill payments and energy crisis intervention. Grants are paid directly to utility providers, helping reduce expenses for both renters and homeowners.
To see if you qualify, contact the Community Action Partnership of Hennepin County at 952-930-3541 or visit their website at caphennepin.org.
For additional savings, those enrolled in EAP may also qualify for the state’s weatherization assistance program. This program can reduce annual energy costs by up to 30 percent through measures like improving insulation, replacing appliances, and reducing air leakage.
