The Golden Valley Historical Society (GVHS) invites the public to its Fourth Annual Holiday Open House on Saturday, Dec 14, 11–3 pm, at the Golden Valley Historical Society Museum, 6731 Golden Valley Rd. The event features seasonal music, an immersive exhibit, and an opportunity to give back.
Event highlights include:
- A performance by the Festive Flute Loops, a quartet from Eden Prairie, in the Historic Church from noon–1 pm.
- An immersive exhibition that traces the history of Golden Valley from the ice age and pre-European contact to today.
- A nostalgic toy display featuring antique riding toys that are over 100 years old.
- A tour of the Historic Church, decked out for the holidays.
- The opportunity to purchase a vintage Golden Valley street sign dating back to the 1940s – signs are priced at $25, with proceeds supporting GVHS programs.
- The opportunity to participate in a warm clothes drive for PRISM, a local nonprofit that serves the western suburbs. Attendees are encouraged to bring new or gently used (and clean) coats, hats, mittens/gloves, and other seasonal items to donate.
