The City Manager serves as the HRA Director and is responsible to the City for day-to-day administration of HRA matters and implementation of HRA policies and directives.

Golden Valley's Housing & Redevelopment Authority (HRA) is a separate legal authority that directs redevelopment projects in the City to remove blight, clean up environmental contamination, and provide for new development to enhance the community and increase the City's taxable valuation.

HRA Meeting Day & Location

  • When: 6:30 pm
    • Work Session: Second Tuesday in February, May, August, November (unless a special meeting is called)
    • Regular Meeting: Third Tuesday in March, June, September, December (unless a special meeting is called)
  • Where: City Council Chambers, Golden Valley City Hall, 7800 Golden Valley Rd (unless otherwise noted)

Meetings are televised live on City Cable Channel 16. Meetings are also webcast live and are available for replay on demand.

Meetings are open to the public unless designated as closed executive sessions to deal with confidential matters such as lawsuits or development agreement negotiations.

Virtual Meetings During COVID-19 Outbreak

While in a local emergency under Minnesota Statute, section 12.37, the Golden Valley City HRA will conduct its meetings virtually via Cisco Webex. Meetings will be televised and webcast live (see box at upper right). Meeting instructions will be available here when the agenda is posted.

  • To monitor the meeting on Webex, call 1-415-655-0001 and enter meeting code 133 896 9735.
  • If you incur costs calling in to the meeting, you may submit the costs to the City for reimbursement consideration.
  • Our top priority is maintaining the health and safety of our residents, staff, and the Golden Valley community. As the COVID-19 situation evolves, the COVID-19 page on the City website will have updated information about the status of closures, cancellations, and changes.

Agendas are available for review online and before the meetings at City Hall. For more information, call the City Manager's Department at 763-593-8006. Minutes are posted as soon as they're available, but remain subject to approval until the next HRA meeting.
