The Golden Valley Fire Department was paged at 6:11 pm Tuesday, July 5, 2023 to a reported fire in a garage on the 4800 block of Douglas Ave in Golden Valley. Upon arrival, crews reported full involvement of the garage, extension into the living areas of the home, and fire impinging on a neighbor’s house.
Fire crews from Golden Valley, Robbinsdale, and St Louis Park worked using multiple hose lines to get the fire under control, then checked for fire extension into the home and mitigated some minor fire damage to a neighboring home.
Police confirmed that two occupants were safely out of the house with only minor injuries. No emergency workers were injured. The last fire crew cleared the scene at 10 pm.
At this time the cause of the fire is under investigation.
