The Golden Valley Community Services Commission's (GVCSC) annual 5k/10k race coming up on April 15, Run The Valley, is more than just an opportunity to get in a good workout. It's a chance to help make a difference in the Golden Valley community.
Each year events like Run The Valley raise money for the City's Human Services Fund. The GVHSC then advises the City Council on how to allocate the fund to organizations that benefit Golden Valley residents in need, like Sweet Potato Comfort Pie, which holds events that create a safe place to advance the conversation about racial justice, as well as to learn, grow, and discuss in individuals’ racial justice journey. In 2023, the CSC allocated $10,000 to the organization.
