During routine patrol Dec 7, Golden Valley police apprehended a suspect for violating multiple traffic laws on local streets.
Officers first attempted to stop the vehicle after the driver ran a stop sign at Theodore Wirth Parkway and Glenwood Ave in excess of 25 mph. The driver fled south on Theodore Wirth Parkway and continued south on Cedar Lake Parkway at speeds in excess of 50 mph before crashing into a tree when attempting to turn on Franklin Ave.
“The driver and passenger fled on foot,” says Police Chief Virgil Green, “and we called in additional officers from surrounding agencies. A K9 located the suspect, who surrendered without incident.”
The suspect, Muckwa Dennis Cloud, was booked into the Hennepin County jail on felony charges of eluding a police officer, says Green, adding it’s not known why he fled.
