Golden Valley residents who need a safe place to access certain services can now do so using a computer in the police department lobby waiting room.
This new community outreach program will enable residents to complete online forms to the City (data requests, permits, etc), request assistance from Hennepin County Social Services, attend virtual court appearances (for those without a computer or internet access), and more.
Golden Valley Police Director Virgil Green credits Joanne Paul, the department’s crime analyst and community engagement supervisor, for taking the initiative to put things in motion for the program. It is available 8 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, with police department employees on hand to help if needed.
“We’re always looking at ways we can better provide services and resources to the community, and we encourage and welcome our residents who need to use it,” says Green. “This will also be valuable in assisting our embedded social worker and her clients. It is just another important part of police work.”
