At its July 12 work session, the Golden Valley City Council discussed term limits for its boards and commissions. The proposed new structure supports the City’s diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and will give more community members opportunities to serve in appointed positions. The City Council first approved Commissioner term limits when it approved the bylaws and ordinance to implement the Police Employment, Accountability, and Community Engagement (PEACE) Commission.
The City Council will review and vote on the ordinance changes later this year before January 1, 2023. Residents will be able to provide input before new rules are adopted.
