For the 33rd consecutive year, the City of Golden Valley has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. The award was accepted at the May 3 City Council meeting.
The award was presented to City’s Finance Department by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) and is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. Attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 19,000 appointed and elected government officials and finance professionals. The association is headquartered in Chicago, IL with offices in Washington, DC.
