Kids ages 12 and under are encouraged to bring their bikes out to the annual Bike Rodeo May 5, from 6 to 8 pm, at Golden Valley City Hall, 7800 Golden Valley Rd. The event will also be held virtually for those unable to attend.
The Bike Rodeo educates kids about bike safety and introduces them to local law enforcement in a fun environment. Participants try out their biking skills on an obstacle course while experts teach hand signals and fix mechanical problems with bikes and helmets. Those wishing to participate only need to pick either in-person or virtual, they do not need to participate in both.
This event is organized by the Parks and Recreation and Police Departments of Crystal, Golden Valley, New Hope, and Robbinsdale, as well as Golden Valley Fire and West Metro Fire.
Additionally, thank you to CCX Media, Every Meal, Kath at Edina Realty, North Memorial Health, Three Rivers Park District, Tonka Cycle and Ski, and West Metro VFW.
