Canadian Pacific Rail Regional Trail Study

Three Rivers Park District will be leading the engagement process for input on the proposed Canadian Pacific Rail Regional Trail. This proposed trail begins in Crystal and will proceed north to south through New Hope, Golden Valley, St Louis Park, Hopkins, Edina, and through Bloomington. Three Rivers staff will be out and about in Golden Valley this summer at many community events and activities sharing information and taking resident input.

Isaacson Park Ballfield #1

The ballfield is scheduled for field rehabilitation beginning in August and the play structure from Wildwood Park is scheduled to be reinstalled at Isaacson Park during the 2023 construction season.

Play Trail At Lions & Brookview Park

New park amenities will be installed this summer/fall at Lions Park and Brookview Park. Four new play pods (for youth 2-12 years old) will be added along the park trails in both park areas – two at Brookview Park and two at Lions Park. A map of the play pod locations as well as designs can be found by visiting https://bit.ly/Brookview-Lions-Map. The park improvements are funded by a generous donation from Golden Valley One Good Deed.

The ballfield is scheduled for field rehabilitation beginning in August.

Tapper Field

The ballfield is scheduled for field rehabilitation beginning in August.

Scheid Park 

This year, planned improvements at Scheid Park include:

  • repair of the stormwater sewer that runs through the park
  • installation of two new hybrid tennis courts with additional Pickleball lines
  • update of the west youth ballfield
  • replacement of the park shelter building roof
  • addition of a new sun shelter with picnic tables next to the play structure area
  • replacement of all outdoor lighting with energy efficient LED fixtures
  • improvement of internal park trails, where needed
  • replacement of outdoor hockey rink dasher boards
  • addition of more parking attached to current parking area, if space allows

Seeman Park

The deteriorating asphalt basketball court will be removed during the summer/fall of 2023 and replaced with a new smaller asphalt pad and an adjustable basketball hoop system.

Wildwood Park

A new shade structure for the Pickleball courts is scheduled for installation. Stormwater improvements are also scheduled for the park. Read more.

Yosemite Park

A new play structure is scheduled for installation as well as a new shade structure fall of 2023.

Seeman Park

The deteriorating asphalt pad outside the tennis court area will be removed the fall of 2023. A new smaller asphalt pad will be reinstalled in the same location with an adjustable basketball hoop, court lines, hopscotch lines and four square lines.

Wesley Park Shelter Building Project

Park shelter building improvements are scheduled to begin late summer or early fall. Improvements include door and frame replacements, the addition of windows, LED lights, air circulation fan addition, flooring replacement, bathroom remodel, furnace replacement, and internal painting.
