Brookview Park Pavilions

inside the picnic shelterHosting a neighborhood, family, or company picnic? Rent a pavilion at Brookview Park. Restrooms are located at the large pavilion and at the tennis court building (across the parkway from the small pavilion) and are available to all users of the park.

Availability

Months: Mid-April through the first week of October
Times: 11 am to 4 pm; 5 pm to dusk

Large Pavilion (Capacity of 100)

The large pavilion is located toward the center of the park. It has 15 picnic tables for 100 people, two parking lots, three charcoal grills, restrooms, a fireplace, running water, and 16 electrical outlets.

Fee: $150 resident, $170 non-resident

Small Pavilion (Capacity of 50)

The small pavilion is located on the north end of the park. It has a parking lot, 10 picnic tables for 50 people, three charcoal grills, and 6 electrical outlets.

Fee: $115 resident, $130 non-resident

Reservations

Reservations can be made in person at Brookview Monday–Friday, 8 am–8 pm, or online. Print out an application here.

  • Golden Valley residents (in-person): Thur, Jan 10
  • Golden Valley residents (online): Fri, Jan 11
  • Non-Residents: Thur, Feb 14

Alcohol Policy

Alcoholic beverages are not allowed on City property, except beer and wine at the Brookview picnic pavilions with an alcohol permit. The sale of alcohol is prohibited on all City property. Events serving alcohol are subject to an additional permit fee of $50 and an insurance rider with host liquor coverage. The insurance rider must have a liability limit of at least $1 million per occurrence, and list the City of Golden Valley as an additional insured. Host liquor coverage is typically available from your homeowner’s insurer or the League of Minnesota Cities. For more information visit the League of Minnesota Cities website.

PLEASE NOTE: If you wish to serve beer or wine at your event, you must pay the permit fee and submit your insurance rider at the same time, at least 14 days prior to your event date.

Damage Deposit

The City requires a damage deposit of $250 for each rental, due at time of reservation. Reservations will not be accepted until the damage deposit or credit card information, as applicable, is received by the City. The City will issue a refund for the deposit within 14 days after the event if no damage was done to the facility. If you damage the facility or fail to clean up after your event, you will be charged at an hourly rate to cover the costs of all clean-up and repairs.

Portable Recreational Equipment

Any group planning to use portable recreational equipment (ie, inflatable, zip line, climbing wall) are subject to an additional permit fee of $25 per unit. The insurance coverage must have a liability limit of at least $1 million per occurrence and medical payment coverage of no less than $5,000 per occurrence. All policies must list the City of Golden Valley as an additional insured. Coverage is typically available from your homeowner’s insurer or the League of Minnesota Cities. Music At Brookview Park

Amplified music of any kind is not permitted at Brookview Park except in conjunction with a City sponsored event.
